Opportunity to Participate in Research

The Canadian Digital Service helps government teams continually improve how they deliver public services. One way we’re doing this is by making learnings and resources available on a public website. We’re preparing to launch a small set of resources and are looking for neurodiverse public servants to participate in a usability testing session and provide feedback.

Our goal is to make these resources accessible to public servants with all types of learning styles.

In total, participating will take about 90 minutes of your time.

If you choose to participate you would:

  1. Complete a short survey
  2. have a 15-minute phone call with a researcher to go over accessible options for reviewing the website
  3. (optional) review information on a website on your own time
  4. 45-minute video meeting with a researcher and notetaker to complete a task using the website and tell us about your experience

More about our approach to accessibility Our goal is to make this website accessible and useful for everyone. Each time we make a change to the website we:

  • Run automated tests using axeCore, a11y-linter, Google Lighthouse, and Storybook component testing
  • Conduct manual testing for contrast, keyboard navigation, mobile touch operation, and Voiceover reading order and perceptibility

We know that automated and manual testing won’t catch all accessibility barriers. To identify task- and information-specific barriers, we also test with public servants with disabilities. This helps us make sure the website is both useful and usable for everyone.
